Marantz is an exceptional luxury audio brand shaped by a deep passion for music, craftsmanship, and modern living. Inspired by the energy and sophistication of New York City, the brand merges contemporary luxury with decades of audio heritage — creating immersive experiences defined by emotion, precision, and timeless design.

STRATEGY

The rebrand focused on evolving Marantz into a unified contemporary luxury experience across packaging, Amazon product pages, e-commerce, email marketing, social media, and digital design systems.

I led the art direction and design of the packaging and email marketing design systems — developing scalable visual frameworks inspired by Marantz’s heritage of craftsmanship, modern musicality, and refined luxury. Every detail was intentionally designed to reinforce the brand’s premium positioning, balancing minimal sophistication with emotional storytelling and elevated product presentation.

The visual system centered around the iconic Marantz word mark, mid-century modern-inspired typography, and the reintroduction of the Marantz Porthole as a defining brand signature and symbolic portal into the Marantz listening experience. Aktiv Grotesk was selected to complement the logo with contemporary restraint, allowing the heritage identity to remain the focal point.

Color played a central role in the rebrand, with a luxurious palette of Deep Teal, muted black, warm white, soft gray, and Marantz Champagne designed to evoke sophistication, warmth, and the ambiance of modern city life. The strategy centered on creating a timeless and immersive luxury ecosystem that translated seamlessly across retail, digital commerce, and social-first platforms.

RESULTS

The result was a more cohesive and elevated brand presence that strengthened Marantz’s identity as a leader in modern luxury audio. Through refined art direction, scalable design systems, and heritage-driven storytelling, the rebrand unified every consumer touchpoint while modernizing the customer experience across packaging, Amazon, e-commerce, email marketing, and social media.

The new visual ecosystem reinforced the emotional essence of “Modern Musical Luxury” — creating a premium, globally recognizable brand experience designed to deepen engagement and celebrate the culture, craftsmanship, and passion behind Marantz.
